The Metro Special Police Department (MSPD) believes that trust and communication are essential pillars of any successful relationship. We strives to earn the public's trust, develop efficient and effective lines of communication, and maintain a positive working relationship with the community. Therefore, the Metro Special Police Department's Office of Police Complaints (OPC) provides a way to file a special police officer or security officer misconduct complaint, when an individual believes a member of our department and their interactions reflected misconduct.
The OPC investigates the following allegations: harassment; use of unnecessary or excessive force; use of language or conduct that is insulting, demeaning, or humiliating; discriminatory treatment; retaliation for filing a complaint with OPC; conduct unbecoming of an officer; and failure to wear or display required identification or identify oneself by name and badge number when requested to do so by a member of the public (certain situations warrant an officer not identifying oneself).
Complete the form in its entirety. It is important to include your telephone number in order that an investigator may contact you for additional information or clarification if needed. Describe the event in detail including date, time and location of the incident. List any witnesses to the alleged employee misconduct. Indicate the name of the employee(s) if known. If the name is unknown, provide as much physical description about the employee(s) and/or badge number if possible.
